hathersage contour map

Nestled in Hope Valley in the heart of the Peak District, the picturesque village of Hathersage quietly lies under the lip of gritstone forming Stanage Edge.

A mecca for walkers, climbers, cyclists and outdoor dippers (the local lido is not to be missed!) Hathersage is a real gem of the national park. It’s a short walk up to the iconic Stanage Edge, from which the views over towards the Edale skyline is dramatic and vast. The River Derwent flows past the settlement, creating the lowest point of the map, the hills building up the landscape to the North and South.

The contours are spaced at 10m intervals, making for an extremely detailed and beautiful interpretation of the landscape.

The map itself is made from a single sheet of brass, which has been shaped by hand into the lay of the land, blackened and slightly rubbed back in places to reveal a warm golden glow.

Keep things minimal with a plain map, or make your map tell your story, by choosing from a range of different personalisation options:

  • Mark favourite walking/running/biking/climbing trails.

  • Use silver, gold or stones to highlight particular locations, whether that be trigs, towns, holiday homes or another spot(s) that means something to you.

  • Engrave writing into the map, like coordinates, place names, dates, initials or messages.

Map Finish

Choose between a blackened map on white background, or satin golden (brass) map on a black background.

The map comes beautifully framed in a choice of white or black with Art Glass (non-reflective, dust-repellent), making it easy to gift or hang without hassle.
