The Peak District Contour Map Wall Art

A BEAUTIFUL HANDMADE CONTOUR MAP OF THE PEAK DISTRICT, CRAFTED FROM SHEET COPPER, SPECKLED WITH GRANULATED SILVER SUMMIT MARKERS.

Created for Seyhan, a passionate hill walker and explorer, based in Sheffield on the Eastern edge of the national park. 37 of the park’s 88 trig points are marked with silver, denoting every peak she has climbed so far. Each of the main rivers have been carved out of the metal, which has an incredibly varied autumnal hue, produced when a flame from the metalsmith’s torch is passed gently across its surface. The graduated shades of gold, burnt umber and almost tangerine hints in places, paired with the many angles of the metal this creates an everchanging landscape as you look at the map from different perpectives.

A piece to make you want to lace up your walking boots and meander out onto the moors & edges.
