“I first came across Holly’s work in an issue of the Hope Valley Journal, and was blown away by the beauty and intricacy of the pieces that she creates. With my partner Harry’s 30th birthday coming up, I’d been wondering what gift could mark the occasion, and got in touch with Holly to talk about commissioning a map.
After an initial chat over zoom - done from my allotment during lockdown to avoid Harry over-hearing the surprise - I settled on a map of the Isle of Wight, where Harry was born and grew up.
Holly was great at communicating the different options and talking through ideas throughout the process. The piece she has created has such incredible detail and is truly unique - Harry loves it and it is a beautiful daily reminder of his birthplace, memories and family there.”
