The Peak District 9 Edges Contour Map Wall Art

A spectacular, intricate contour map wall piece, cut from a single sheet of copper.

Here, it is pictured before framing in Holly’s workshop in Sheffield.

The map features a section of the Dark Peak in the Peak District, highlighting the iconic ‘9 Edges’ Route, which you can find out more about here. Beginning at the tip of Ladybower and Derwent Reservoir, the dotted trail winds its way from Derwent Edge 23 miles South, finally finishing up at Birchen Edge near the Derbyshire village of Baslow. Being the first distance trail run the map owner took on, he wanted to celebrate the beauty of the landscape and his physical acheivement with this creation. Each of the edges is marked with a small 18ct gold marker, the route itself picked out with copper dimples.

The shorter route marked on the map to the West is a circular loop taking in the classic Great Ridge from Lose Hill to Mam Tor, Win Hill, Hope and Castleton; a stunning walk with breathtaking views of the Derbyshire countryside. This walk was special to the customer, being a favourite of him & his partner and one of the first they did together. The summits of Win Hill & Mam Tor are also highlighted with 18ct gold markers.

The main rivers of the area, the Derwent and the Noe, are egraved into the metal, cutting a bright rose gold line through the antique blackened finish of the map. The perfect, unique gift for a pair of keen hikers and trail runners, wanting to bring a little of the outside into their home.
